CCSSO Releases Statement on Nomination of Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education

Washington, D.C. (February 12, 2025) -- Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Chief Executive Officer Carissa Moffat Miller released the following statement on the nomination of Kirsten Baesler as Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education.  

“Superintendent Kirsten Baesler is a tireless leader and strong advocate for the students in North Dakota, and I commend her nomination for Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education. I had the pleasure of working closely with her during her time on CCSSO’s Board of Directors, including Board President, and believe her experience and commitment to the academic success of all students will benefit the ongoing work across our nation."
